July, time for an update!
Josh Pyke joins fellow Aussie musicians Holly Throsby, The Grate’s Patience Hodgson, Eskimo Joe’s Kav Temperley, Kevin Mitchell of Jebediah/Bob Evans and a six-piece band for the Bob Dylan Night.
They’ve spent the last few days rehearsing in Melbourne in the lead up for the first show of the tour tomorrow night at the Palais Theatre in Melbourne. (then onto Brisbane, Sydney, and Splendour in the Grass – dates here)
Hope some of you will be heading along to the Dylan shows – let us know how they go!
Josh has been posting photos on Facebook. (I wonder if he’ll use instagram again..)
And Patience and Kav have been posting photos on Instagram (follow them @paehoddy and @kavtemperley)
Over the past week a few interviews have taken place, including Josh and Holly dropping into Triple J breakfast with Tom & Alex last week (see here) and below JP treating 3AW to his cover of The Times They Are A-Changing.
What else has happened I hear you ask?
Select Music held their 7th birthday party. While we wished we could have attended, we heard it was amazing. Pyke played, and was interviewed by Music Feeds. Select Music raised $12,202.50 for Beyond Blue. Massive effort guys, and props to them for organising such great tours!
JP played River Sessions last weekend in MacKay, and had a pretty funny response to one of my tweets.
Josh is heading back to WA! Yep. He last played at the ARTBAR with the Basement Birds now he’s returning on November 8th! Details here.
And last but definitely not least, Josh posted on Twitter about being in the studio demoing some new tracks. We’re excited. We asked if we could hear them now, and he sadly declined our request on Twitter. Guess we have to wait.
That’s it for now folks!
