Basement Birds – The Eagle Has Landed
Finally, after what’s felt like years the first single from the Basement Birds was played yesterday on Triple J. Josh Pyke headed into the studio yesterday afternoon with The Doctor to reveal the first single, Waiting For You.
If you missed the chat with The Doctor head over to the Triple J website and listen to the podcast. Along with the first play on Triple J comes today’s announcement of the single Waiting For You being released WORLD WIDE on Itunes. Be sure to download it. Now.
If you’re curious about the Basement Bird releases, the songs will be released in bundles – as Kev explains on the BB blog – “The songs are going to come out as “bundles”, which is very exciting as I don’t think I’ve released anything in “bundle” format before. It must be a very hi tech new format because it is being released digitally on iTunes. I doubt whether cd shops stock bundles. Anyway, a song called “Waiting For You” will be in the first bundle and I believe each bundle will comprise of three songs. Three excellent songs. ”
Speaking of blogs in JP’s Basement Birds blog he mentioned covers and did a call out for any suggestions of songs the Basement Birds could play in their live shows. Got a suggestion? Leave a comment on the blog.
