Josh Pyke Variations Tour
In October 2009, multiple ARIA winning singer/songwriter Josh Pyke will embark on what is his shortest, yet most ambitious tour to date. Four huge shows, in VIC, NSW, WA and QLD.
As the tour name states, Josh’s set will be split down into three varying fragments; an acoustic solo set followed by an intimate set featuring re-workings of his back catalogue, and incorporating instruments like mandolin, ukulele and toy piano. The final set will see Josh emmerge with a full band for a big sound. The different paces of the three sets will showcase Josh’s versatility as a musician and a performer, and give fans a special insight into the man behind the songs.
These four, one-off, city shows will be the largest venues he has headlined in his career, and Josh will be calling on fans to make their way to the big smoke to see him this time.
His latest release, ‘Chimney’s Afire’, which debuted at #3 on the national ARIA Charts, reached Gold sales in Australia a few months ago, giving Josh a second Gold record to hang on his wall along side his ARIA Award winning debut Memories & Dust. These will be his last shows before he takes time out to write a new album.
Josh will be joined on this tour by sensational New Zealand songbird, Gin Wigmore and Sydney singer/songwriter Fergus Brown.
