I’m sure you’re all enjoying the supports (Patrick James and Olympia) on this tour, we sure are! So much so we’ve asked Olympia some questions!
Five questions with.. Olympia
Place you call home?
Melbourne
Can you describe your music in a few words?
Cross between the movie Dead Man and the poetry of Dorothy Porter. Or minimalist soundscapes.
What song of yours would be a good introduction to your music? (For those who hadn’t heard of you before?)
Good question – I think Atlantis. Some lovely person made us a clip using footage from an old Esther Williams movie around synchronized swimming. It’s a perfect fit with the song, and I love it because I’m not in it.
Are there any particular cities you’re looking forward to visiting on the Beginning & The End of Everything tour?
To tell you the truth – I haven’t been to most of these cities, so most of them! When I think of the WA shows, I confess to visions of sunsets over the ocean, dolphins, and the magical instant tan I’m going to acquire when I step off the plane.
And do you have a favourite Josh Pyke song?
Love Goldmines, however Leeward Side plays 24/7 in my brain. Must say though, I have loved watching how Josh delivers his music to each audience, he’s an amazing performer. I told him that too, but I don’t think he believed me.
Until next time,
-sabi
PS. Do you know what September means? FOJP’s birthday..
