– Been interviewed by more magazines (including Triple J Magazine), radio stations and various press

In other news.. though it just missed out on joining the Hottest 100 Australian Albums of all time, Chimney’s Afire placed at number 115. Full list is here. Nice one Josh! And do you remember the White Album tour? Of course you do! You, yes you should go sign this petition so a DVD/CD can be released. Now.
And in some Friends of Josh Pyke news, September will see us officially celebrate our fifth birthday! Wow.
The Only Sparrows tour starts in just under three weeks. Josh informed his twitter followers that full band rehearsals start today! Got your tickets yet? Full dates & tix info here.
Joining Josh on tour are supports Emma Louise and The Paper Kites. I want to encourage you to be early for the supports, so what better way than a Q&A with one of them, The Paper Kites. (Thanks Sam!)
Five questions with… Sam Bentley from The Paper Kites
Place you call home?
We’re all Melbourne kids.
Can you describe your music in a few words?
It’s tough to pin down. It’s pleasant.
What song of yours would be a good introduction to your music? (For those who hadn’t heard of you before?)
That’s a hard one they’re all pretty different. ‘Featherstone’ is a good place to start it’s our most recent single.
Are there any particular cities you’re looking forward to visiting on the Only Sparrows tour?
Well it’s actually really our first time taking the band outside of Melbourne so everywhere is exciting.
I’m personally pretty excited about our Wet ‘n’ Wild day when we hit The Gold Coast.
And do you have a favourite Josh Pyke song?
Funnily enough me and Christina (in the band) were totally Josh Pyke fans. We used to drive around cranking ‘Make You Happy’ and she had actually coordinated her own interpretive dance to the ‘The Summer’. So we’ll have to try and play it cool on tour.
Until next time, come join us on Facebook and Twitter.
